Poi Sang Long Festival the Buddhist novice ordination (ceremony of Ti Yai Tribe) is held in Mae Hong Son province. Sang Long or Luk Kaew will be dressed up with elegant costumes and jewelry accessories like prince Siddhartha(the name of buddha) before he become a novice
The ceremory goes on for three days. Two days before ordination, the boys are forbidden to step on the ground,so they will be carried around on the shoulders of their fathers, mother or older relatives. The ceremony will be started with the parade of Luk Kaew. They will be carried around on the shoulders and marched along the village in a long distance and scorching weather.
